Required Ipads for Back to School

Required Ipads for Back to School

This morning I watched pictures float through my Facebook feed of kids returning back to school.  My kids returned two weeks ago and it has been great! Great for my kids, and great for me. I have seen mixed reactions of how parents feel about sending their children back into the world aka… public schools. Most parents seem happy, some sad and some perplexed with an empty, quiet house. When … [Read more...]

Midwest Report: The House Hunt

Who knew when I lived in my late grandparents house on Indiana Ave in Idaho a few short years ago, I would eventually be living in the state of Indiana. I will be doing some blog catch up in no particular order! This is our story of finding our new house. It seems like moving is always an adventure. Sorting, packing, eliminating, shifting, deciding what to keep and what to let go … [Read more...]

Midwest Report…

Moving on... Last fall we decided to resume the job searching. California is nice for its weather and wonderful coast line. Sadly, beautiful beaches and sunny winters cannot pay for the high price tag of homes and cost of living. It also doesn’t null all of the wild rules and laws that adorn California.  As fast as we moved there, we were ready to move on. Our goal was to be in … [Read more...]

A Fond Farewell… Happy New Year

2015 a farewell to a year where I can relate to Charles Dickens, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had … [Read more...]

I have finally taken the plunge! I got my own domain name and finally switched over to Wordpress from Blogger. Things are still under construction, but I am hoping to play catch up and begin blogging again. Stay tuned to find out more about our move to California and what it is like for our family of five living full time in an RV. I have about 101 reasons I stopped blogging, but I hope to … [Read more...]

Part One: Moving to California

T minus five days… We are counting down to the day of our move. After months of preparation, that day is finally coming.  Tonight I sat down with the Hubs and made a list of final countdown items that need to take place before we all pack up and head out! This week may be as adventurous as the years to come. We have a lot on our plate.  But forget this week for a moment. Here is what has … [Read more...]

Mental Blogging Blockage….

Where do I begin… I have taken such a long break in blogging, I don’t even know where to start.  Life has been busy and great in many ways, but also full of lots of crazy stuff. Do I share about the whirlwind of unemployment and getting a new job out of state? Or..  the craziness of preparing to downsize to an even smaller space than our 750 square foot tiny home? Or.. share … [Read more...]

Adventures in subbing: Episode Two Flash Back First Grade

A reflection of one of my recent sub jobs.  Every day is a new adventure!  Today as I was heading to my sub job in Room 5C, Liberty Elementary School.  I was not prepared for the rush of emotion as I walked to the front of the school today.  This very school, flashback 1984. Opening day of a brand new school. First Day of 1st Grade, anxiety rushed over me.  Timid child … [Read more...]

Practicing Love and Patience for Children With Special Needs

Sunday’s are the hardest..  It is a day like no other where the schedule is different and we go to church where the kids are expected to sit through a long church service with out being to disruptive and possibly get something out of it. I have a hard time putting my heart to words at times, especially when it comes to the welfare of my children.  Bean, my second child who will be … [Read more...]
