Tiny Home Tour: Take One!

I know this is the moment you have all been waiting for!  To see this little “tiny” home I have been talking about the past six months!  Can you believe I have waited six months for this moment to show you my soon to be home!

Our renters have moved out and I finally have been able to go to our new home and take some pictures and measurements.  I am headed over to the house to start painting this morning!  Currently it has dark green, blue and red walls with a splash of light yellow and green (which were some of the original colors).  I am ready to paint the canvas white again!!!

Welcome!!
The original door from 1950.
Lil’ Miss already making herself at home picking the flowers!

I was happy to see some daffodils.  Makes me happy to come home to cute little flowers in the front yard!   I will have to enjoy them today before my kids pick them apart!
Living Room as you walk in. Kitchen straight ahead and bedrooms and bathrooms to the right.

Living Room view from the other side of the room.  Don’t you just love the green and blue!!! NOT!  The pictures don’t capture the hideousness.  The renters choose the paint colors.  I do love the wood floors and wood trim!

Living room from the angle coming from the bedrooms.  I also like the large picture window in the front (on the left).

Tiny Cove to the bedrooms and bathroom.  Right door is the  new “master” and the other door will be the kids room.

Master in it’s brick red goodness!

View from the other side.  The closet will need a little bit of work.

The kids room!  Yeah for white walls!! This will be the easiest room to paint!!

Kids room from the other angle.

Tiny Bathroom!

I would like to replace the sink with a vanity, but i am not sure they make them small enough! I only have 22″ to work with here between the toilet and the wall!

Butter Yellow kitchen with harvest gold oven.  Although small believe it or not there are more drawers than my previous two homes!

Frigidaire oven circa 1950???
I have already used the oven, and it actually heats better than my  new oven I put in our last house!
Things are not built to last these days!!

Mushroom drapes made by my Grandma W I believe.  She had the same ones hanging  in her house in Oregon.  I later used the ones from her house in my preschool classroom. Nostalgic, yes but they too will come down.  Maybe I can come up with something to re-purpose them to.

Our bitty utility room that houses the furnace, water heater and soon will have our washer and dryer.

Lil’Bean getting to know the place.  Garage on the left and house on the right, that door leads to the kitchen.

Lil Miss enjoying the giant tree in the front yard.  She gets to enjoy it while it lasts, hopefully it will be coming down in the next year, too many branches leaning on the roof and power lines.
So there you have it.  A mini tour of our tiny home.  I better get off the computer and headed to the house. I have got to paint over those hideous colors!!!  On the agenda next week: refinish the floors!! We have decided to hire it out instead of doing it myself.  We are too anxious to get moving, so I will have to learn to re-finish floors another day!
Happy Soon To Be Painting!! Have a great week!

This was fun to see all the house views. It looks "big" while it is empty!

You know what? I love it. I wish more people had homes like that. While we will probably never have a home that small again, I kind of wish we would. I wish we didn't live in a world where we have this need for huge-ness. I'm sure you will be happy to one day have a bigger place, but I hope you enjoy it while you are there. Good luck fixing it all up. I think that would be sooo much fun. So much work, but so fun at the same time. The fact that the rooms are smaller will make it easier and more affordable to fix up (in some ways!).
