Back Yard Mini Orchard

I have wanted a mini orchard for years.  My first home I have purchased when I was a
single gal and teaching school had two apple trees.  The trees were old, over grown and uncared
for.  They produced fruit every other
year with small inedible buggy apples.
My second home where we recently moved from also had two
apple trees which were smaller and in much more manageable shape.  This property also had lots of perks with
raspberries two varieties of grapes and garden beds.  I planted a few fruit trees only one
survived.  In fact I loved the little
peach tree so much last winter before moving I dug it up and transplanted it over
to our tiny home.  I needed to bring a
piece of my old home to my new place.
Besides I love that little tree!

So on one of my random searches on Craigslist I found a
fruit tree sale.  The sale was one day only and was way over in Weiser which is near the border of Idaho and Oregon. It is only an hour or so from where I am
currently living so I thought I would venture out and purchase some discounted
trees.  It happen to fall on the same day
as our latest yard sale adventure so before the sun rose that morning I set up
for the sale, put my dad in charge and snuck away for a little drive through
the country.

Enjoying the sunrise on my early morning drive.

I got there about 20 minutes after they opened up and I am
so glad I went when I did, things were quickly getting snatched up.  This is what I ended up getting:

2 Mont
Cherry
2 Bosc Pear
1 Red Baron Peach
1 Red Globe Peach
1 Golden Jubilee Peach
1 Tilton Apricot
1 Fuji
Apple
1 Jonagold Apple
I am excited to have a little orchard at my home.  Although we only plan on living at Tiny Home
for a few years, we will keep the home and rent it out later on.  Besides my dad lives next door where I
planted most of the trees so he will be able to help in our little orchard
after we move out.

Pear, apple and apricot trees, mmmm.

Had to dig a four foot hole to turn the garden water back on!  I had great help!
Here is my pinterest orchard board with more detail on each
fruit variety that I have planted so far.  Stay tuned!! I am sure I will have more to update!!
Happy Fruit Tree Planting!!
