Upcycled Baby Dress to Toddler Skirt Tutorial

I found this cute dress at the Other Mother’s quarter sale. I thought I could make it into a skirt due to stains on the top. It was a quick and simple fix.

Stained Baby Dress

I trimmed about an inch and a half above the skirt and then turned the fabric under making a waistband, then stitched around to complete it. I used the bottom button of the dress for the waistband in the skirt.

Trimmed about one and a half inches above the band.

Pinned all the way around then stiched.

We threw her tutu under the skirt to take the pictures. She had fun running around in her new skirt. I was pleased because it only cost me a quarter and only took about fifteen minutes to modify!

So when shopping for baby and toddler clothes or going through clothes before you throw them out, see if it has potential for another use or project!

Happy Upcycling!
