Following Lil’Misses birth for several months, each time the hubbers and I would pass the hospital he would go off about the food. He would say how great it was to stay in such a nice place and just order food when ever you like and how good the food was. It was like a home away from home, a specialized hotel. He couldn’t wait until we could come back. He teased (but I am pretty sure was serious) about how we needed to get pregnant again so we could go back to the hospital and get more food!
Didn’t he realize that that hospital was not all about the food!! Is our daughter going to grow up thinking that the place she was born is a restaurant? After all that is all her daddy talks about when we pass the hospital. The Food! I finally had to say, “You know the food wasn’t all that wonderful…. And have you forgotten. That is where your daughter was born??”
So here I am 18 ½ months later thinking about the food here. It’s not too bad. I wouldn’t say that it tastes the best, but what I do like is that I just have to pick up the phone to order I don’t have to do any cooking or clean any dishes. Now that is pretty luxurious!
I suppose one of the reasons the hubbers likes to have food from the hospital is that he can order all he wants from the menu and is only charged $7.00. For him it is a free for all, which seems like heaven. I however see the food as a necessity; we have to eat to live.
I can’t say I haven’t experienced some of the hospital menu goodness. The veggie plates are yummy and the cheesecake is pretty awesome. I had an great burger and fries last night, so I can’t complain. But really the greatest thing is being served and not cooking.
So here is to you sweet hubbers! Enjoy your hospital food while it lasts. After we check out of this place, I don’t anticipate coming back to the hospital for meals for a very long time!
